Learning Results

Considering the training courses, content, learning and teaching methods and the amount of credits, provide the learning outcomes achieved with this component and their aggregation provides the learning outcomes of the program with the appropriate level of the higher education qualifications framework - one-step, an academic level equal to the Master.

Learning Program results are in compliance with the Medicine Education Program specialized characteristic confirmed by - LEPL - National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement N225 order  , and includes not only basic science and clinical science theoretical knowledge, but to develop clinical skills and to develop very important ethical values and attitudes for this profession.

Program learning outcomes  also ensure the competitiveness of graduates at the next level of education -  PHD  as well as in the field of medical education after degree and  in the employment market ( in accordance of the preconditions of concrete state access)

After finishing one-step Medicine program the future prospects of the graduates include the continuation of the study in the residency, undertake education  course (professional preparation) of further  education of alternative residency diploma, working as a junior doctor or performing research activities in the theoretical fields of medicine or other areas of health care that do not include the right to obtain independent medical practice.

Field competence 

Knowledge and understanding 

Graduate medical doctor will have theoretical and practical knowledge of the basic, clinical, behavioral and social sciences necessary for medical activity, including the critical understanding of theories and principles, namely:

  • Knowledge of Basic Natural, Behavioral, Social and Clinical Subjects;
  • Knowledge of major groups of medicament ; Knowledge of the principles of their appointment in accordance with pathological condition and diseases;
  • Knowledge of the public health system and understanding the role of the doctor within this system;
  • Knowledge of ethical and legal norms;
  • Understanding the complexity of clinical view and finding ways to solve the problem.

 

Ability to use knowledge in practice

1. After completing the program, the graduate should be able to:

Patient counseling: 

  • Anamnesis gathering
  • Physical examination
  • Clinical thinking and decision making
  • Give explanations and advice
  • Patient encouragement and protection of its rights
  • Assessment psychological condition of the patient

 

2. Clinical Case Assessment, Appointment of Research, Differential Diagnosis, Discussion about Disease Management Plan:

  • Understanding and evaluating the complexity of clinical report
  • Appointment of appropriate explorations and interpretation of the results
  • Differential diagnosis
  • Discuss the disease management plan with patients and their caretakers
  • Take care of patient and family in terminal condition
  • Chronic disease management

 

3. Assistance in emergency medical care: (primary aid and resuscitation)

  • Recognition and assessment of emergency medical conditions
  • Treatment of urgent medical conditions
  • Provide Basic First Aid
  • Basic life-sustaining and cardio-pulmonary resurfacing measures according to guidelines
  • Provide extended life-saving measures relevant to guidelines
  • Treatment of trauma according to guidelines.

  • Connection to the clinical context of appropriate drugs and other medicinal measures
  • Review the compatibility of medication and other type of treatment and asses the potential benefits and risk for the patient

5. Use  Methods and Knowledge of Biomedical Science Principles in Medical Practice and Research:

  • Knowledge of the methodology of scientific research, ability to elaborate the results of detailed planning of research design and make conclusions
  • Ability to write abstracts based on critical analysis of scientific literature in biomedicine
  • Knowledge of the principles of ethics for conducting scientific research

  • Assessment and conclusion of the psychological and social aspects of the patient's disease;
  • Evaluation and conclusion of psychological factors of disease detection and patient ;
  • Evaluation and conclusion of social factors affecting the disease and the patient;
  • Detecting the stress related to the disease

  • Effective use of information and information technologies in medical contexts (regulate and retain clinical records, and retrieve information if necessary, use of modern information technology in practical activity, finding specific information resources, retain information and use it later, the ability to store records.)

Realizes the necessity of continuous renewal of knowledge and continuous professional development; Have the ability to evaluate their own knowledge and skills; Can use biomedical scientific principles, use of methods and knowledge; Has knowledge of conducting scientific research methodology; Research design, detailed planning, the ability to process the obtained results.

When dealing with the patient and colleagues, he is guided by justice, social and democratic values. Also is able to use ethics principles and analysis skills during treatment; Implementation of health promotion activities, involvement in public health issues, effective work in the health care system, treatment, which minimizes the risk of damage to the patient, carry out preventive measures to prevent infection;  Understanding  their own health problems and evaluate their  health with regard to professional duties; Participation in health promotion activities both at individual and population level.

Ability to work in the group: Ability to work in the group as a member and leader. Can clearly formulate tasks, agreeing with group members, coordinate their activities and adequately assess the capabilities of group members, manage conflict and force majeure situations.

Ability to work independently: the ability to organize time, selection of priorities, ability to meet deadlines and fulfill the agreed work protection and agreed work. The ability to protect ethical principles: protects the principles of ethics in the relations with colleagues, patients and non-specialists. Can analyze and solve ethical dilemma.
