Panel Discussion at SEU on “Forms of Violence against Women and Domestic Abuse and Legal Mechanisms of Protection and Assistance”

On December 9, Georgian National University SEU will host a panel discussion held as part of the University Human Rights Law Week. The event will be dedicated to the discussion of domestic violence forms and issues hindering the identification of such cases.

The legal mechanisms for the protection of victims of domestic violence will also be highlighted, particularly the forms of domestic violence counted crimes and punishment mechanisms, the cases involving the issuance of restraining and protective orders, or putting the abusers under electronic surveillance.

Panel Discussion on “Ivolvement of Minorities in Public and Political Life and Current Challenges”

The essence of the special rights of minorities will be analyzed as part of the public lecture. Institutional barriers to the participation of minorities at the stage of the first-level democracy as well as at the central level. Additionally, the best international practices regulating the participation of minorities and the instruments of the Council of Europe will be analyzed.
