SEU hosted a certificate award ceremony of the competition titled “I Write an Independent Essay” on November 6.

Mariam Alavidze, a student of Tbilisi Public School N51, became the winner and first-place holder of the Georgia-wide writing completion.

  • Mariam was given a laptop Levono V15 and a SEU full scholarship voucher, while her Georgian language and literature teacher Ms. Lela Skhirtladze was given 700 GEL.

Luka Kikacheishvili, a student of Samtredia Public School N1, become a second-place holder.

  • Luka received 500 GEL from SEU, and his Georgian language and literature teacher Ms. Ekaterine Shvangiradze was given 400 GEL.

Mariam Induashvili, a student of Urbnisi Public School took the third place.

  • Mariam and her teacher of Georgian language and literature Ms. Nana Ghvaladze were each awarded 200 GEL.|

Three “distinguished” participants of the competition (IV-VI places) and four “excellent” participants (VII-X places) were awarded with special diplomas and gifts.

  • Ms. Maia Kobakhidze, Head of the Teachers and Scientists of Georgia Free Trade Union, awarded special prizes to the top ten teachers of the competition. They were awarded cash prizes by the TSGFTU, and the winning three were given tablet computers.

The 12 best participants of the competition were revealed, and their essays will be published.

Representatives of the Parliament of Georgia and the Teacher’s House attended the award ceremony. The organizers and partners of the competition signed a joint agreement, according to which the competition “I write an Independent Essay” will be held annually at Georgian National University SEU.
