On February 26, 2020, a special meeting was held at the Georgian National University (SEU) to discuss the high prevalence of new coronavirus worldwide, the incidence of coronavirus in Georgia and the involvement in planned new coronavirus prevention activities by the state. The meeting was led by the Rector of SEU.
At the meeting was discussed the potential threats of the new Coronavirus at the organization and measures to prevent it.
In accordance with the SEU Business Continuity Plan, a new Coronavirus prevention policy and related procedures, as well as the composition of the Business Continuity Management Team, were defined.
Due to the fact that the first case of coronavirus outbreak in Georgia was stated on February 26, at the meeting was discussed the timing of implementation of the study process, therefore decided to start the spring semester of 2019-2020 academic year on March 9, 2020, instead of March 2, 2020.
