Georgian National University SEU is announcing an open competition for an academic position (professor) at the Faculty of Law – direction of Constitutional Law

Competition vacancy:

• 1 vacancy for a professor’s academic position

To participate in the competition, the applicant should meet the academic eligibility criteria required by the particular competition vacancy below.

Competition criteria:

For the professor’s academic position:

Academic eligibility:

• PhD or equivalent academic degree;
• At least 6 years of scientific-pedagogical work experience at a higher educational institution;
• Author/co-authorship of scientific publications on relevant academic course(s) in the last 5 years;
• Vision of academic pursuit;
• Submission of the syllabus(es) of the relevant academic course(s)/program.
   

Additional criteria:

• Practical experience in the area;
• History of participation in scientific conferences; holding scientific scholarships and grants;
• History of participation in professional development activities;
• Command of foreign languages.
   

List of documents to be submitted to the competition:

• An application with proper reference to the academic position/direction;
• Applicant’s questionnaire;
• Copy of ID card;
• Certificate of conviction for a crime against sexual freedom and inviolability;
• Certificate of deprivation of rights;
• Qualification attesting academic documents (foreign diplomas/certificates with proper legalization/apostille paper);
• Information about the pedagogical-scientific work experience (a certificate must be provided, with reference to the specific vacancy-required work experience);
• Information on published scientific papers, etc.;
• Vision of academic pursuit;
• Syllabus(es);
• Documents confirming the candidate's compliance with the additional criteria;
  
  

Competition stages:

• Selection of the documents submitted by the candidates;
• Interview with the competition commission (might require giving a mock lecture).
  
  

Competition terms:

• The competition application and relevant documents must be submitted within the deadlines;
• The commission is authorized to check the accuracy of the information and documentation submitted by the candidate and request the candidate to submit additional papers. In case of requesting additional documentation, the person will be admitted to the next stage of the competition provided that the relevant papers are submitted;
• The resume sent to Georgian National University SEU in accordance with the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection may contain personal data, including data of a special category. Please be informed that your personal data will be processed by Georgian National University SEU for the purpose of making a contract with you, including the decision to establish a labor relationship;
• An affiliation agreement will be signed with the persons selected in the competition, if they wish.
  
  

Candidate selection terms:

• Stage one: selecting the submitted documentation, determining the completeness of the documentation and the compliance of their applications with the main criteria;
• State two: establishing candidate’s suitability to the main criteria by the competition commission, including the assessment of compliance with additional criteria in case of excessive number of candidates.

Competition deadlines:

• The competition is announced from September 9, 2021;
• Applications for academic positions will be accepted on October 11-12, 2021;
• The first stage of the competition - selection of documents: October 13-14, 2021;
• The second stage of the competition - interview with the competition commission: October 15-18, 2021 (the exact date and time of the interview will be announced to the candidate after passing the first stage of the competition);
• Competition results will be announced on October 19, 2021;
• Acceptance of appeals till October 20, 2021;
• Review of appeals: October 21, 2021;
• Final results of the competition will be announced on October 22, 2021.
