On January 12, a presentation of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet competition winner project - "European Green Deal - Just Transition in Education” was held at Georgian National University SEU.
The opening speech was made by the SEU Vice-Rector for scientific-research – Anna Phirtskhalashvili and the Head of the European Integration Research Center – Irakli Samkharadze. They talked about the significance of the European Green Deal and emphasized the importance of raising awareness with regard to the Deal, studying and teaching of its different components.
The event was attended by the Deputy-Mayor of Tbilisi – Andria Basilaia, the member of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission – Maia Melikidze, the president and the professor of the Steinbeis University Berlin – Giorgi Khubua, also, the representatives of non-governmental organizations, international organizations, the representatives of other projects, winning the Jean Monnet competitions, experts and other interested persons.
The head of the project – Irakli Samkharadze talked about the aims and the main target topics of the project, based on which it is planned to hold various events within the framework of the mentioned project: elaboration of elective study and certification courses, organisation of summer school and publication of scientific paper. The project will last for three years and both Georgian and foreign experts and professors will be involved in it.
At the end of the event the guests heard the answers to the questions that interested them and took part in the discussion.
