Domestic photo contest is announced at the University upon the initiative of the Program in Journalism and with the support of the Career Development and Alumni Relations Office.
Topic of the photo contest: Our Earth
The theme of the photo may include the following:
- Healthy lifestyle and healthy environment;
- Water, as a resource that needs to be protected;
- Energy in its wide sense – its sources, resources and availability;
- The possibility of inclusive education;
- Innovations;
- Inequality and poverty;
- Wealth and diversity;
- City-village;
- Nature – its uniqueness;
- Production – in any form;
- Sea and its resources;
- Gender equality;
- Safety.
The terms of the photo contest:
- All students of the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs of SEU may participate in the contest;
- Photos may be taken with a camera or a mobile phone;
- Each contestant may submit only one photo;
- Photo must be related to only one of the listed topics;
- There are no aesthetic limitations in terms of the contents of the works, though they must be easily perceivable for general audience;
- The work must not include elements of discrimination, violence or abuse;
- If plagiarism is detected, the photo of the contestant will be removed from the competition.
Evaluation criteria:
- Correspondence with the topic of the contest and with the selected goal;
- Originality of the idea;
- Innovative vision;
- Correct shot in compositional terms;
- Combination and matching of colours.
Your understanding of the topic, interesting vision and creative approach must be visible through the photo – we expect interesting and creative photos from you.
- 3 winners will be revealed by the jury.
- All three winners of the contest will receive respective certificates and presents
- All participants of the contest will receive certificates confirming the participation.
- The best photos selected by the jury will be exhibited in the atrium of the New Campus of SEU, on large screen. The winning photos will also be published on the website of SEU and in the social network.
Contest time limits:
Admission of photos: from February 14, 2024 – through March 11, 2024;
Revealing the winners: March 18, 2024;
Awards ceremony: March 21, 2024 (dedicated to the Georgian Journalism Day)
