Meeting With The Representatives of the Georgian Charter of Journalistic Ethics

On May 11, the meeting with the representatives of the Georgian Charter of Journalistic Ethics will be held at SEU, which will be organized by the Career Development and Alumni Relations Office and the Program in Journalism, funded under the USAID Media Program, the representatives of the Charter of Journalistic Ethics will meet SEU students.

The aim of the program is to promote freedom of the media and the raising of awareness on journalism based on the high-quality ethical standards.

During the meeting the students will be familiarized with the principles of the Charter, the dynamics of the work of the Charter and the decisions of the Council.

The introductory meeting considers the creation of space for discussion, maximum participation and the question-and-answer format.

Briefly about the organisation: Georgian Charter of Journalistic Ethics is an independent association of journalists with the mission to raise social liability of media by observing the professional and ethical standards and creating the self-regulation mechanisms.

Within the framework of the USAID media program, another meeting is also planned at SEU – to hold a model meeting: the actual reviewing of applications received in relation to the violation of ethical principles.
