Georgian National University SEU announces an open competition for academic positions (professor, associate professor, assistant professor), both on academic and professional grounds at the Faculty of Business and Technology, for the specialisation of Technology:

Vacancies for the competition:
 

Specialisation – Computer Networks and Security (modern network technologies, information safety, cybersecurity):

  • Professor – 1 vacancy;
  • Associate professor – 2 vacancies;
  • Assistant professor – 2 vacancies;

Specialisation – Programming (language of programming: Python, C++, C#, programming on Python for business analyst, game development, building of mobile applications, software engineering):

  • Professor – 1 vacancy;
  • Associate professor – 2 vacancies;
  • Assistant professor – 2 vacancies;

Specialisation – Artificial Intelligence (artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, computer logics):

  • Professor – 2 vacancies;
  • Associate professor – 5 vacancies;
  • Assistant professor – 4 vacancies;

 

Specialisation – Digital Art (UI/UX Design, Customer Experience Studies (UI/IX):

  • Professor – 1 vacancy;
  • Associate professor – 2 vacancies;
  • Assistant professor – 2 vacancies;

 

Specialisation – Data Analytics (Data Analytics, Big Data Processing, Machine Learning, NLP (Natural Language Processing) Power BI):

  • Professor – 1 vacancy;

Specialisation – Corporation Finances:

  • Professor – 1 vacancy;

 

In order to participate in the competition, a contestant must satisfy compliance of the (academic/professional) grounds required for the respective vacancy with the below criteria:

On the academic position of a professor:

On academic grounds:

  • Doctor’s or equivalent academic degree;
  • No less than 6 years of scientific and pedagogical work experience at higher educational institution;
  • Authorship/co-authorship of scientific publications published within last 5 years in the field of the respective study course/courses;
  • Vision for academic activities;
  • Submission of the syllabus(es) for respective study course/courses of the educational program;

 

On the academic position of associate professor:

On academic grounds:

  • Doctor’s or equivalent academic degree;
  • No less than 3 years of scientific and pedagogical work experience at higher educational institution;
  • Scientific publication/publications published within last 5 years in the field of the respective study course/courses;
  • Vision for academic activities;
  • Submission of the syllabus(es) for respective study course/courses of the educational program;

 

On the academic position of associate professor:

On professional grounds:

  • Master’s or equivalent academic degree;
  • No less than 5 years of work experience in the respective field, which is related to the practical activities within the field;
  • Vision for academic activities;
  • Submission of the syllabus(es) for respective study course/courses of the educational program.

On the academic position of assistant professor:

On academic grounds:

  • Doctor’s or equivalent academic degree;
  • Scientific publication/publications published within last 5 years in the field of the respective study course/courses;
  • Vision for academic activities;
  • Submission of the syllabus(es) for respective study course/courses of the educational program;

On academic position of assistant professor:

On professional grounds:

  • Master’s or equivalent academic degree;
  • No less than 3 years of work experience in the respective field, which is related to the practical or pedagogical activities within the field;
  • Vision for academic activities;
  • Submission of the syllabus(es) for respective study course/courses of the educational program.

Additional criteria for academic personnel:

  • Practical experience in the respective field;
  • Participation in scientific conferences, scientific scholarships and grants;
  • Participation in the professional development events;
  • Knowledge of English.

 

Documentation to be submitted for competition:

  • Application (for participation in the competition indicating the respective academic position and specialisation);
  • Recruitment Questionnaire;
  • Copy of the identity document;
  • Certificate of conviction for a crime against sexual freedom and inviolability and Certificate of

Deprivation of Right

  • Documentation corresponding with the criteria established for the vacancy: educational documents establishing qualification (in the case of education gained abroad, it is necessary to submit the document certifying the recognition of education);
  • Information on the professional/scientific and pedagogical experience (it is required to submit the respective certificate in order to confirm the work experience determined under the vacancy);
  • Information on published scientific papers;
  • Vision for academic activities;
  • Syllabus(es);
  • Document certifying English language competence (if any);
  • Documentation certifying compliance of the contestant with additional criteria;

 

Competition stages:

  • Selection of the documentation submitted by the contestants;
  • Interview with the competition commission (may be conducted in English/may include conducting a demo lecture).

Terms of competition:

  • Application and respective documentation must be submitted within the terms determined for submission of documentation for competition.
  • The commission is authorized to check the accuracy of the information and documentation submitted by contestants and/or require from the contestants to submit additional documentation. If additional documentation is required, the person will be admitted to the next stage on the condition of submitting the respective documents.
  • Resume sent by you to the Georgian National University SEU may, according to the Law of Georgia On Personal Data Protection, include personal data, among them, data of special category. We inform you that your personal data will be processed by Georgian National University SEU for the purposes of making a decision on establishing contractual, including, labour relations with you.
  • Upon their desire, the affiliation agreement will be executed with the persons selected during the competition.

 

Terms of selection of contestants:

  • First stage – selection of submitted documentation, establishing wholeness of documentation and their correspondence with the basic criteria;
  • Second stage – interview, establishment of compliance of the contestant with each basic criteria by the competition commission, if the number of contestants exceeds the number of respective vacancies, assessment of compliance with additional criteria as well.

 

Competition terms:

  • The competition has been announced since November 24, 2023
  • Documentation of persons willing to occupy academic positions will be accepted from December 25, 2023 through January 10, 2024;
  • First stage of the competition - selection of documents: January 11-15, 2024;
  • Second stage of the competition - English language test: January 16, 2024;
  • Third stage of the competition - interview with the commission: January 17-18, 2024 (candidates will be informed about the exact date and time of interview after passing through the first stage of the competition);
  • Announcement of competition results: January 22, 2024;
  • Receipt of appeals: January 23, 2024;
  • Reviewing of appeals: January 24, 2024;
  • Publication of final results of the competition: January 25, 2024.
