Georgian National University SEU is pleased to announce an open competition for academic positions (professor, associate professor, assistant professor) on the Bachelor’s Program in Computer Sciences at the Faculty of Business and Technologies, in the following directions: Programming; Machine learning; Computer graphics; Cyber ​​Security.

Competition vacancies: 

• Professor: 2 vacancies;
• Associate professor: 3 vacancies;
• Assistant professor: 3 vacancies.
   

To participate in the competition, the contestant must meet the required (academic / professional) eligibility on the relevant competition vacancy, in line with the following criteria below:

As for the academic position of professor:

As per academic qualification: 

• Academic degree of Doctor or equivalent;
• At least 6 years of scientific and pedagogical work experience in a higher education institution;
• Authorship/co-authorship of scientific publications published during the last 5 years in the field of relevant educational course(s);
• Vision on academic activity;
• Submission of the syllabus(es) of the relevant course(s) under the educational program.
   

As for the academic position of associate professor:

As per academic qualification: 

• Academic degree of Doctor or equivalent;
• At least 3 years of scientific and pedagogical work experience in a higher education institution;
• Scientific publications published during the last 5 years in the field of relevant educational courses;
• Vision on academic activity;
• Submission of the syllabus(s) of the relevant educational course(s) of the educational program.
  
  

As for the academic position of associate professor:

As per academic qualification: 

• Master’s degree or equivalent academic degree;
• At least 5 years of work experience in the relevant field, related to practical operation in leading positions of the field (content of practical work can be specified based on the specifics of the program);
• Scientific publication(s) published during the last 10 years in the field of relevant educational course(s);
• Vision on academic activity;
• Submission of the syllabus(es) of the relevant course(s) under the educational program.
   

As for the academic position of assistant professor:

As per academic qualification:

• Doctor’s degree or equivalent academic degree;
• At least 5 years of work experience in the relevant field, related to practical operation in leading positions of the field (content of practical work can be specified based on the specifics of the program);
• Vision on academic activity;
• Submission of the syllabus(es) of the relevant course(s) under the educational program.
  
  

As for the academic position of assistant professor:

As per academic qualification:

• Master’s degree or equivalent academic degree;
• At least 3 years of work experience in the relevant field, related to practical operation in leading positions of the field (content of practical work can be specified based on the specifics of the program);
• Scientific publication(s) published during the last 10 years in the field of relevant educational course(s);
• Vision on academic activity;

Additional criteria for academic staff:

• Practical experience in the relevant field;
• Participation in scientific conferences, scientific scholarships and grants;
• Participation in professional development activities;
• Proficiency in foreign languages.
  
  

List of documents to be submitted for the competition:

• Application for participation in the competition, indicating the relevant academic position and direction;
• Contestant form;
• Copy of ID card;
• Certificate of conviction for a crime against sexual freedom and inviolability and certificate of deprivation of the right;
• Documentation relevant to the criteria set for the vacancy: qualification attesting educational documents (in case of education received abroad, it is necessary to submit a document certifying the recognition of education);
• Information on professional / scientific-pedagogical experience (it is necessary to submit the relevant certificate to confirm the work experience provided by the vacancy);
• Information on published scientific papers, etc.;
• Vision of academic activity;
• Syllabus(s);
• Proof of English language proficiency (if any);
• Documentation confirming the competitor’s compliance with the additional criteria.
  
  

Competition stages:

• Selecting the documents submitted by the contestants;
• Interviewing with the competition commission (it is possible to include a demonstration lecture).
  
  

Competition terms:

• The competition application and relevant documentation must be submitted within the deadlines for submission of competition
• The commission is authorized to check the accuracy of the information and documentation submitted by the contestant and/or request the contestant to submit additional documentation. In case of request for additional documentation, the person will be admitted to the next stage of the competition, provided that the relevant documentation is submitted.
• Your resume submitted to Georgian National University SEU in accordance with the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection may contain personal data, including data of a special category. Please be informed that your personal data will be processed by Georgian National University SEU for the purpose of making a contract with you, including the decision to establish an employment relationship.
• An affiliation agreement will be signed with the persons selected in the competition, if they wish.
  
  

Contestant selection terms:

• The first stage: selecting the submitted documentation, determining the completeness of the documentation and the compliance of their applications with the main criteria;
• The second stage: the interview, the competition commission will assess the compliance with each of the main criteria of the contestant, and in case the number of contestants exceeds the number of relevant vacancies, the assessment of compliance with additional criteria will be initiated as well.
  
  

Competition deadlines:

• The competition is announced on June 6, 2022;
• Applications for academic positions will be accepted on July 7-14, 2022;
• The first stage of the competition for the selection of documents: July 15 - 18, 2022;
• Third stage of the competition Interview with the competition commission: July 19 - 20, 2022 (the exact date and time of the interview will be announced to the candidate after passing the first stage of the competition);
• Announcement of competition results: July 21, 2022
• Receipt of an appeal: by July 22, 2022;
• Review of appeals: July 25, 2022;
• Announcement of the final results of the competition: July 26, 2022.
