The 84th business sessions of the European Students' Union (ESU) were held at SEU

The 84th Board Meeting and the general assembly of the European Students’ Union (ESU) is held on May 1-8 organized by the Georgian Students’ Organisations Association and supported by the Georgian National University SEU. It is noteworthy that it’s the first time that Georgia hosts more than 120 representatives of the most influential youth organisation in the European Union from various European states.

On 2nd May , the first day of the seminars planned within the framework of the event was held at SEU. The event was opened by the president of the European Students' Union Matteo Vespa, the representative of the Georgian Students' Organisations Association Nika Tikanashvili and the Vice-Rectors of SEU for Administrative Affairs - Mr. Goderdzi Buchashvili and for Academic Affairs - Mr. Giorgi Ghavtadze.

Together with other Georgian and foreign speech-makers, the speakers of the seminar were SEU lecturers and the personnel of the Quality Development Department of SEU:

Giorgi Sabanadze – invited lecturer of SEU, seminar topic – Politics and Democracy; Perspectives of the Democracies of South-East Europe;

Nona Zumbadze – Head of the Quality Development Department;

Mariam Vashakidze – Specialist of the Quality Development Department;

Ana Borashvili – Specialist of the Quality Development Department;

The personnel of the Quality Development Department of SEU presented a report on the topic: Participation of Students in the Quality Assurance Mechanisms and talked about the role and necessity of students’ participation in the quality development and assurance mechanisms. The meeting was held in the format of a discussion, the participants shared best practices.

The seminars were also attended by the students of the Bachelor’s Program in International Relations of SEU, who also participated in the discussion.

We remind you that ESU was founded in 1982 and it unifies more than 20 million students of the national students’ union from 41 states. The European Students’ Union is the official youth organisation of the European Union, which has the quota with the right to vote in the European Parliament and cooperates closely with the European Commission, UNESCO, Council of Europe, the Group Implementing the Bologna Process etc.

Within the framework of the internationalization strategy and with the purpose of intensification of international contacts, SEU actively promotes such events.
