Workshop on Climate Change

On January 30-31, 2024, a workshop on climate change will be held at the Georgian National University SEU, organized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

During the two-day workshop, the following topics will be discussed:

  • The essence of climate change and its scientific justification
  • Causes of climate change and its consequences
  • The connection between climate change and gender
  • Litigation in Climate Change
  • A global and local framework for managing climate change
  • Learning and employment opportunities in the field of climate change in Georgia and abroad.

There will also be a screening and discussion of the documentary film "Chasing Ice".

The participants of the workshop will receive a certificate issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Georgian National University SEU and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

Students from all accredited higher education institutions in Georgia, regardless of educational level or faculty, are invited to participate in the workshop.

While participation in the workshop is free of charge, registration is mandatory. Kindly complete the registration form to secure your spot.

The deadline for registration is January 28.

The workshop is held within the framework of the regional program " Capacity development for climate policy in the countries of South-East and Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia" (CDCPIII), which is implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ)within the framework of the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The program is implemented by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, as well as the German Federal Foreign Office.

The working languages for the workshop are Georgian and English.
