Practical Skills for Developing a Grant Project

Georgian National University SEU Training Center stars new training: “Practical skills for developing a grant project”.

The training aims to develop the necessary skills for writing a grant application, being an integral part of scientific-research activities.

The training course is designed for interested persons who wish to study the preparation of a grant application, the structure of the project application, writing style, budgeting, and other components necessary for the project, ethical aspects of the research, procedures, preparation of supplementary project documentation, etc.

Each training session (day) will last for 4 (four) hours and will cover the following issues:

• Demonstration of key elements of a successful project proposal or innovation;
• Compliance of the project with the requirements of the source of funding;
• Recommendations / exercises on the 3 most important parts of the proposal: justifying the project, project viability / sustainability, and project assets;
• Concentration on the process: tools and procedures during project development;
• Project life cycle and management;
• Project evaluation and monitoring;
• Project budget;
• Ethical issues of the research project: ethics committees;
• Studies on humans, animals and biological samples;
• Various donor organizations: similarities and differences;
• Further stages of obtaining funding: grant agreement, commitments and responsibilities, and other topical issues.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be better able to draw up and submit a successful scientific-research project application for funding.

The training is free for staff of SEU

Upon completion of the course, certificate will be issued.
