On January 30-31, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Georgian National University SEU organized a workshop on climate change.
Over the course of two days, participants were informed about and discussed various topics, including the essence of climate change and its scientific justification, the causes of climate change, its consequences, and their connection with gender. Students also attended lectures on legislation processes in the field of climate change and received information on the global and local frameworks for its management. Additionally, they discussed study and employment opportunities in the field of climate change in Georgia and abroad.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the documentary film "Chasing Ice" was screened and discussed.
Students from SEU, along with more than 10 other higher education institutions, participated in the seminar and actively engaged in relevant activities and discussions.
The workshop was held within the framework of the regional program " Capacity development for climate policy in the countries of South-East and Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia" (CDCPIII), which is implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ)within the framework of the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The program is implemented by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, as well as the German Federal Foreign Office.
