Presentation of the project under the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2020, held at the State Conservatoire

The presentation of the project under the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2020 between SEU, Caucasus University and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University was held in the small hall of the Vano Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire in December 2021.

As part of the project, aimed to publish the audio and video archive materials of the unique expedition recordings of traditional music preserved at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, two bilingual recordings were produced:

• IN SEARCH OF LOST THINGS - VALERIAN MAGHRADZE’S EXPEDITION AUDIO RECORDINGS FROM MESKHETI. The recording was prepared by the International Research Center for Traditional Polyphony based on Valerian Maghradze’s Meskhetian expedition material from 1960-1980, which had gone unexplored and unpublished to date;
• Audio disc with an attached brochure on EXPEDITION AUDIO RECORDINGS OF GEORGIAN TRADITIONAL MUSIC – GRIGOL CHKHIKVADZE.
  
  

During the event, the Rector of SEU, Mr Gia Kavtelishvili addressed the audience:

“To begin with, let me thank you for the opportunity to support this wonderful project. Each of us is fully aware of the irreplaceable historical, scientific and artistic value of the unique recordings of Georgian traditional music. The audio recording is a unique way for the listener to get acquainted with and exposed to the Georgian traditional music culture”.

The presentation was followed by a small concert of Georgian folk music.
