Tbilisi City Hall Is Starting To Accept Applications To Finance Tuition Fees For Socially Vulnerable Students

Tbilisi City Hall is starting to accept applications to finance tuition fees for the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year at higher education institutions for socially vulnerable students.

Tbilisi City Hall will start accepting applications from March 1 to finance the tuition fees of socially vulnerable students for the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year.

Within the program, a citizen of Georgia, registered in the territory of Tbilisi Municipality, who has been enrolled on the following programs, will be financed: undergraduate or graduate Georgian language training educational program, integrated Master’s degree program in teacher training, integrated Master’s degree program in veterinary medicine, certified education program in medicine/dentistry, or doctoral education program. The successful candidate must be an active student status holder and be registered in the “Database of Socially Vulnerable Families” of the Social Service Agency and their rating score must be equal to or less than 150,000, and the extract from the “Unified Database of Socially Vulnerable Families” must be indicating Tbilisi as the family home address.

The amount of funding (not more than 2,250 GEL per year and not more than 1,125 GEL per semester) depends on the student’s average academic achievement in the previous semester, in particular:

  • 91-100 points - not more than 100% of the semester amount (1,125 GEL) for those students whose rating score in the “Unified Database of Socially Vulnerable Families” is equal to or less than 150,000.
  • 71-90 points - not more than 100% of the semester fee (1,125 GEL) for those students whose rating score in the “Unified Database of Socially Vulnerable Families” does not exceed 70,000, and not more than 70% of the semester fee (787.50 GEL) for those students whose rating score in the “Unified Database of Socially Vulnerable Families” is more than 70,000 and less than 150,000 or equal to 150,000.
  • 51-70 points - not more than 50% of the semester amount (562.50 GEL) for those students whose rating score in the “Unified Database of Socially Vulnerable Families” is equal to or less than 150,000.
