Georgian National University SEU hosted an international conference on “Domestic Violence as a Social Challenge” on April 11.
The conference was organized in the framework of the international research project MOVETIA (Swiss National Agency for Exchange and Mobility) in partnership with Eastern Switzerland University (OST) and focused on the problems and challenges of domestic violence both in Georgia and Switzerland.
Maka Peradze, Head of the Human Rights Secretariat of the Government of Georgia, Ketevan Vashakidze, Prosecutor of the Human Rights Department of the Prosecutor’s Office, Mariam Gvilava, Representative from the Ministry of Internal Affair and Assistant Professor at SEU, Gabriela Schmid, Professor at OST, Baia Pataraia, Executive Director of Non-Governmental Organization “Sapari” and experts in the field Nino Tsatsiashvili and Goga Khatiashvili gave speeches at the conference.
The international conference was moderated by Professor Anna Phirtskhalashvili, Vice Rector of SEU for Scientific Research.
The international conference was held with the support of “USAID Rule of Law Program in Georgia”.
