On February 14, the Chairman of the National Competition Agency Irakli Lekvinadze held the meeting with our students.
Within the event, the discussion was held on the issues of the mechanisms for the protection of consumer rights and the efficient enforcement of competition policy.
It is noteworthy that the memorandum of cooperation was executed between the Georgian National Competition Agency and SEU, which aims at reinforcing competitive environment, providing support to students, strengthening the consumer rights enforcement policy etc.
‘’The mentioned memorandum provides SEU students with good opportunity to gain practical experience in real environment together with the theoretical knowledge, to better familiarize themselves with the issues of consumer protection law and to do an internship at the National Competition Agency. This will facilitate preparation of qualified personnel in the field of consumer protection, as consumer protection is novelty for Georgian reality’’ - said SEU rector Mr. Gia Kavtelishvili.
"With the perspective of student employment, the university-educational program "Start a career at the National Competition Agency" is already in an active phase. Our aim is to promote the development of students’ practical skills and train and employ qualified staff in the sector of consumer rights protection", - said the Chairman of the Georgian National Competition Agency, Irakli Lekvinadze at the meeting.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, as well as students.
