International clinical conference was held at Georgian National University SEU on the topic ‘’The Recent Innovations in Surgery’’.
The Faculty of Medicine of Georgian National University SEU and the affiliate clinic of SEU, American Hospital Tbilisi (AHT) were the organizers of the Conference.
The Conference is one of the most important events of the year in the field of medicine, which lasted for 3 days. The conference was dedicated to modern achievements and innovations in the field of surgery, sharing of knowledge with young surgeons, students and residents.
The event was opened by the chairman of the Conference the Head of the General Surgery Department of American Hospital Tbilisi (AHT), doctor of medicine, Professor Merab Kiladze.
The rector of the university Mr. Gia Kavtelishvili, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mr. Gia Amilakhvari and foreign guests gave their speeches.
Leading specialists and experts of the field from 12 countries of the world participated in the conference.
It is noteworthy that at the opening ceremony, the title of honorary doctorate was granted to Merab Sareli, the Vice-President of the World Jewish Congress and to Ioseb Nanobashvili, the Vice-President of the Division of Vascular Surgery of the Medical Institute of Vienna for their contribution made in the field of surgery.
At the end of the event concert was held, which was performed by the university ensemble Eriseuli.
The conference ended with the discussion conducted with students and information was provided to them regarding the questions raised in the field of their interest.
