On January 16, SEU hosted a presentation of the book ‘’Fundamental Rights (A Commentary)’’. The authors of the work are Anna Phirtskhalashvili and Besik Loladze.
The book was prepared and issued by Georgian National University SEU, with the support of the USAID Rule of Law Program.
The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Justice, judges of the Constitutional Court and representatives of the Supreme Court, advocates, professors and students of the Faculty of Law of different higher educational institutions.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law of Georgian National University SEU – Tea Jugheli, the representative of the USAID Rule of Law Program and the authors of the book addressed the audience with their speeches.
The event was moderated by associate professor, the head of the European Integration Research Center – Irakli Samkharadze.
The work represents a commentary on each fundamental human right guaranteed by the second chapter of the Constitution of Georgia. The contents of the book are arranged considering the complex nature of human rights and discuss its constitutional and legal aspects in the broad context of both – judicial practice and the current scholarly discussion.
More than 400 scientific literature and up to 2000 international and national caselaw are used in the book.
